On June 2nd 2005 I married Trudy and there are a couple of our wedding photos on the left. When I'm not working, you'll probably find me involved with one of a number of amateur theatre groups, concentrating on stage management and lighting (recently being one of the first in the UK - amateur or professional - to use some new equipment to operate a theatrical production). I also dabble in photography and a variety of other activities, including computing, web design, cycling, soccer and I am a trained professional firework firer. If I'm not busy with one of these activities, you might find me driving model steam trains at one of two clubs a mere 220 miles (350 kilometres) apart - but that's a long story - to find out more, click here or here. When I'm not doing these, I am also a volunteer watchkeeper with the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI), click here for more information, or click here to help support us. If you are interested, a sample of my photographs can be found here. If you're interested in contacting me, please click here. The charity which I am passionate about is the RNLI: The RNLI depends entirely on voluntary contributions and legacies for its income. In the 30 seconds or so it will take you to read this sentence, the cost of maintaining the RNLI's maritime rescue service will have been over £95 - not a penny of which comes from the government. 2005
WAS THEIR BUSIEST YEAR EVER AND THEIR INCOME FAILED TO COVER
COSTS. In 2005, running costs averaged around £330,000 per day. For every £1 raised, 78p was spent on operations, 3p was spent on support and 19p was spent on fundraising. Alternatively, a donation form in PDF format is available to download by clicking here. This is not a scam and if you would genuinely like to donate, but do not trust the links on this site, then please feel free to go directly to the RNLI. RNLI VOLUNTEER CREWS RISK EVERYTHING TO SAVE LIVES AT SEA You
can click on this image to see which lifeboat(s) are or have been
in action: The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is a registered charity that saves lives at sea. It provides, on call, the 24-hour service necessary to cover search and rescue requirements to 50 miles out from the coast of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, and a beach rescue service on 43 beaches in the south west of England. There are 233 lifeboat stations strategically placed around the UK and Republic of Ireland. If you donate to the RNLI as a result of visiting this site, please contact me by clicking here so that I know the little effort I'm making is of some benefit.
