Rochdale Society of Model & Experimental Engineers (RSMEE), founded in 1932, is one of the oldest societies in the country and was also a founder member of the Northern Association of Model Engineers. RSMEE runs 31/2 and 5 inch gauge model locomotives - live steam, battery electric and petrol - every Sunday afternoon (weather permitting) for passengers and onlookers at the railway track, Springfield Park, Rochdale, from early April until late October. The railway track is also 71/4 inch gauge, although this gauge is not normally operated by our members. Visiting owners/drivers are always welcome, please read the railway track page. If you are interested in visiting the railway track, especially if you are travelling any distance, you may wish to view maps and/or the local weather forecast, which are accessible via the railway track page. Twice-monthly meetings covering a variety of subjects are also held on Friday evenings throughout the year. Events (including UK society open days) are available here.
